Timeless Jazz

Standards-Timeless.  Joel Conner (guitar, vocals) and Cathy Hurt (flute) offer a unique take on classic jazz standards and more modern songs they feel belong to that category. Beside the Timeless Feel of song like “Autumn Leaves,” “Summertime” and “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love,” they play songs like “Temptation” (Tom Waits), “Superstar” (Leon Russell), and “Smooth Operator” (Sade), plus originals in the same style.

Cathy and Joel have been playing together on and off since their days in Undercover, one of Indy’s top blues bands in the early ’90s, through the classic rock of Cyan Aura and in coffeehouses in the mid-’00s. Cathy currently plays sax and some flute in Day Job Blues, while Joel plays around Indiana with Amy Jackson and Robert Bruce Scott in various acts.
